The 15th is a long par 4, and ranks as the deserving number 2 handicap. Players must club select accurately from the tee, as there are two well placed ponds left and right of the fairway that are very much in play off the tee for most players. Depending on the tees that are being played, longer players may have the distance to clear the ponds, but be aware that this option requires a long carry distance that is longer than it may seem. Other players may opt to pull a lesser club than driver in an attempt to find the fairway and take the ponds out of play on their tee shot. While this may be an appropriate strategic option for many players, just be aware that it will likely leave a lengthy second shot into the green. As mentioned above, and depending on the strategy of their tee shot, many players will face a long second shot into the green. There is not much trouble around the green, and being a little short here on your approach shot usually leaves a fairly routine chip and putt. Although rare for many players (due to the length of the second shot), being long over the green is typically not a great option and can leave a difficult chip depending on pin placement. The green doesn’t have any severe undulation, but has just enough smaller twists and turns to leave players without too many easy putts.
